About
The Heart of My Practice
Beginning therapy can feel intimidating and may bring up feelings of vulnerability. I understand that it is not easy to share deep personal experiences, emotional pain, and past wounds with someone you have never met before. For this reason, I keep in mind that you are the expert on your own story and struggles, while I am here to guide and support you through the therapeutic process. Together, we can work toward greater emotional well-being and personal growth while developing the strategies you need to navigate daily life.
My path to becoming a psychologist grew from a lifelong desire to walk alongside others through difficult seasons of life with hope, compassion, and resilience. Witnessing the emotional impact of hardship, loss, and transitions deepened my desire to understand the healing process and led me to pursue psychology as a way to help others find greater understanding, strength, and emotional well-being.
What Shapes My Practice
My experience includes supporting adults through anxiety, depression, grief, caregiving challenges, life transitions, and the complexities of aging, including seven years working with older adults and their families in nursing home settings.
Beyond my clinical work, I have served as an ordained Christian minister and missionary for over 44 years. This journey has shaped my understanding of the emotional, relational, and spiritual dimensions of life. For Christian clients who desire it, I offer a Christian-informed approach that integrates psychological care with Christian faith, values, and spiritual beliefs.
